The Sidemen are a Brampton based jazz quartet built to swing. Four players who treat the jazz tradition as something to honour and drive forward in equal measure. Their 2023 debut album Mind the Gap served up nine hard-swinging originals, but for the World of Jazz Festival they are paying a debt to their heroes. Guitarist Paul Llew-Williams steps into Wes Montgomery's shoes alongside Alex Kolhsmith on piano, with Mark Dunn on bass and Greg Allworth on drums, for a set drawing from the legendary records Montgomery and Wynton Kelly made together with a few surprises.
