The Morgan Childs Soul Jazz Revue is an extension of drummer Morgan Childs’ co-led trio with guitarist Ben Bishop and organist Jeff McLeod (@bmcorgantrio). Adding horns, bass, and, vocals to their classic soul jazz sound is a logical extension of their thorough investigation of the classic 1960s music of soul jazz pioneers like Grant Green, Lonnie Smith, Idris Muhammad, and Jimmy McGriff.

The Morgan Childs Soul Jazz Revue has performed at prominent Toronto venues like The Rex, Tennessee Tavern, Burdock Music Room, and 3030 Dundas, as well as appearing with Ian Hendrickson-Smith (The Roots, Dap Kings) at the 2018 Markham Jazz Festival and Haliburton Forest Festival. The Morgan Childs Soul Jazz Revue includes many prominent members of Toronto’s vibrant jazz, soul, and blues scene.

As a drummer/sideman, Juno-nominated Morgan Childs is in constant demand with a long list of international jazz stars, including: Phil Dwyer, Guido Basso, Robi Botos, Laila Biali, Brandi Disterheft, David Restivo, Kelly Jefferson, PJ Perry, Bernie Senensky, Pat Labarbera, and many more.
