The Mattaus Gretzinger Quartet is a group of musicians dedicated to creating swinging, creative jazz music. Mattaus can be found playing at venues around Toronto like The Rex and Jazz Bistro, constantly working to improve his art and provide enriching sonic entertainment to the people of Toronto. Some of his major influences include Charlie Parker and John Coltrane, as well as modern players like Dick Oatts and Aaron Parks. Mattaus has studied with Kelly Jefferson, Ben Solomon and Todd DelGiudice.
